A Message from our Committee Chair

Janice Roberts

I am pleased and honored to be a part of Hope is Growing, Ronald McDonald House at Stanford’s Expansion Campaign.

This organization has been quietly and diligently supporting children receiving care at Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital Stanford and their families for nearly 35 years. To date we have been able to serve nearly 375,000 families.

More importantly, recent studies have proven the impact of the House’s work – families are stronger when they stay together and this support enables children to heal faster and cope better. For this reason our expansion is even more urgent and vital; demand for the House’s services consistently outpaces available accommodations. We have a waiting list that averages 40-50 families each and every night, and in recent years for every family the House was able to serve, another was turned away due to lack of space.

The Hope is Growing campaign, an ambitious $40.5 million fundraising campaign, will build an expansion on land directly adjacent to our current location, renovate our current House and ensure organizational sustainability for the long-term. We are well on our way to achieving of our ambitious goal through the generosity of the community, but we need your support to successfully realize our vision for the day when we can comprehensively support every family who needs our service.

I hope you will consider joining our impactful initiative.
